If you have a Twitter account where people come just to get links, sales and opportunities that is one thing. If you have any other type of account, you need to be careful how you recommend your squeeze pages, lists, and other sites.
The way you do this is to add something of honest value in every post, even if no one follows the link included. Some things you might put in these messages include:
- Link to a post on a blog.
- Funny jokes.
- Pictures or video clips.
- Clip from a longer article.
Before you post, ask yourself if others will find value in the post.
Twitter Strategy Tip #2 – Shorten your URL to easily fit in your call to action.
The call to action is difficult to do with a 140 character limit, but shortening your URLs to a tiny version will help a lot. Make your CTAs implicit to help stick to your limited character count.

Twitter Strategy Tip #4 – Think of your Twitter profile as your resume.
Take the time to set up a very professional looking profile that has a nice background, top quality photos, and a very well written bio. You only need about 160 characters for a good bio and you can have a freelancer make attractive images for your profile page. Use this space like you would prime real estate in the real world.
Don’t come to Twitter trying to sell someone something. That is the approach of losers who give up in a very short period of time. Rather, focus on developing followers who trust you to provide quality information such as blog posts, reviews, and posts leading to valuable content online. Get them to follow you, respect you, and then they will naturally want to do business with you.
It does take extra time to create valuable, meaningful tweets, but it will pay off big time in the future. As you gain followers that trust and value you, your profits will rise as well.
